Sounds tough, not sure if I will be able to finish (even though cut off time is 14 freakin hours!).

Let's see....ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-77025299840621408552011-07-18T18:22:00.003+08:002011-07-18T18:27:59.881+08:00work tripJust got back from PD last Friday - I realized I hate work trip more and more now for few reasons. I don't like spending too much time at the airport waiting, I don't like spending precious 2.5 hrs in the flight, and I certainly don't like the work piling up on my desk...

But despite those reason-I thought my recent PD trip was not bad. I got to stay at c0ru5 hotel, I even brought my running shoes , konon want to run by the beach. But hampeh betul, the shoes didn't even come out once! Blame it on the eating every 2 hrs during seminar.

This weekend will be a busy time, will go to Brunei to pick precious baju raya. I can't wait to see how it turns out! I have no idea whyyyyyy Monday traffic is much much worse than any other days? Do people get up like really early on Monday morning?

So, after last night's (many!) self reminders - I woke up early. By early, I mean like super super early which was 4 am! And I couldn't even sleep after that. Can't blame me, I was already asleep by 11pm. After browsing internet trying to kill time - I got ready by the time I was 5 and out the house gate at 515am. Talk about being superrrr superrr productive. I couldn't even find restaurants that were open to get breakfast.

Super productive continued to work where I finished report for meeting by 7.30am --- tapi the thing about starting work early took forever to wait for 1pm lunch break. but the waking up early is only working out on weekdays, weekends are for sleeping in.

Today marks two months I have officially "working out" - so, here are what I've learned in these two months:-

1) no matter how much you want to lose weight, gotta eat, gotta eat- not eating is just gonna slow down metabolism and hence losing lean mass. During the first month, I lose almost 1kg of lean mass and less than that of body fat. So maybe, waaaay too much steady state cardio and skipped meals. The second month, I tried eating more frequently and gained back that lost lean mass and at the same time lose (more) bf than a month ago.
2) HIIT - high intensity interval training rocks! I can only do so much long steady state cardio, I think now, I just squeezed in 20-25 mins of HIIT after yoga class (i iz lazy to run for an hour)
3) Variety works - gotta fit variety of exercises into routine to avoid boredom.

And I have not had fast food for the last two months!

Going to some conference on Wednesday.. I am soooo lazy to pack, I have started listing down my to-pack-list , but yet to put anything in the luggage. heck, I haven't unpack my backpack from my (not so recent) kl trip... malass....ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-2024864317402262002011-07-03T08:02:00.003+08:002011-07-03T08:11:10.292+08:00fitnessProductive weekend yesterday
- Finished my work @ starbucks before gym
- Went for 1.5 hr of gym workout
- Indoor rock climbing - it was awesome! i think my yoga class helps me to be more flexible

Despite how I complained about being sore and super-ass tired (not to mention intense nausea) after workout , i am loving the effects it.

- back pain, shoulder and neck stiffness are gone
(because i usually go to massage like monthly to get rid of this back pain)
- in better mood in general ( my colleagues can attest to this statement )
- more energy in general
- increased fitness level

Although I had to change few things -
- Be out of the door before 6am to get to the office by 7.30, because I want to get out of office by 430

next : maybe go to belay class so that I can belay people safelyujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-62838085833345904132011-06-28T22:13:00.002+08:002011-06-28T22:31:59.324+08:00penyakit 5 wordsomg. malasnya these days. i have gazillion of stuff to do in the office - having too much work demotivates me.

I do analysis for a living - and this affect my daily lives as well. As an analyst, I tend to over-analyze everything. Like, if I want to go to 3 places (eg, shopping, gym, errands, groceries), I would optimize my journey so that I would travel less including having to consider baggages/groceries bags that I might have to carry.

I am also obsessed about wiki-ing and researching info. I think I was the only few yang baca 30 pages manual of how to do assessment on your staff. I dig thru the office policy handbook to find out about policy on replacement leave (this due to someone in the office raised up issue on 5 days limit for replacement leaves)- they're wrong btw. I researched about how bad sit-ups/twist sit-ups for back/spine so that I won't be committing the crime of doing my body harm instead of good. And how about stagnant/steady cardio is not good for fat loss? Or there's no such thing as spot reduction? Obsessed much huh?

Somehow being in the world where information is everywhere, you just have to find the truth by yourself, isn't it?

Here here to google :Dujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-37197164435071002242011-06-16T17:50:00.003+08:002011-06-16T17:58:52.858+08:00cuti - cuti malaysiaI can't wait for cuti next week.. Oh yea, I'll be in KL next week for a little getaway.. I have no specific agenda - except gonna take the time to eat ikea meatball and makan2 time. So, who's free to meet next week????

On another note, I thought working out is gonna make me fit and healthy.. tapi.... i end up with sore bodies afterward most after training. If this week was sore arms+back next week would be sore quads, and now..... it's super sore calves. I can't even stand straight which leaves me walking tip-toe everywhere. I even went to scan and in shock aftward to found out two babies in my bellies. Gawd, imagine me with twin, i bet i can't even walk straight or climb up the stairs. What's next? I hope I won't be seeing dancing babies soon like ally mcbeal. (Obviously, this could be from watching too much tv)

I've been changing my body clock-time- meaning i get up like reallly really early (not that early!) to get ready for work. I even try to leave the house before 6am most days (insane i know!). Why the change? Since I've joined the gym and developed loathe for being in jammed, I tried to leave early in the morning and go home late at night. So, this means, I leave before everyone in the house gets up, and get home when everybody is in their bedroom. Luckily, no husband or babies waiting at home. Otherwise, my kids would be like, "errrr, who are u? r u my mummy?" Hehehehe..

If this goes on well in June, I'm hoping to change my flexi hour to 7.30-4.30. That means I could be home latest at 7pm and have time to relax and watch my fav show...

well, we'll see...ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-4257254535592811692011-06-05T12:16:00.004+08:002011-06-05T12:22:13.833+08:00on foodNote the healthy resolution...

I have not had fa(s)t food for the last month, mcDonalds, KFC, pizza hut and other fast food. Wasn't she glowing and beautiful? I think they met in church group, so it's like a gift from God... Check out their faces, couple do resemblance each other, doesn't it?
----

I'm dying to go travel. Yet, my work schedule is basically packed with so many things to do. I might even have to cancel my Bali Trip in September due to work (yikes!).

----
On growing up - I've taken in consideration of having my own place! But KK properties is insaaaaaanely expensive for single income (normal people). There's no way people can afford descent property without having to starve every month. 15 years ago, single income family could afford property, car, feed the whole family and save for the children. I doubt that could happen nowadays (unless your pay is super-duper high).
----
I'm going for yoga class later this evening.

Check out this article, it explains all about body composition.

So after reading it, I knew my lean body mass is 40kg, so there is no way I could dip below 40kg without looking like a skeleton. Still being sore from last tuesday's workout doesn't stop me from my goal. Apa yea the goal? To live a healthy lifestyle and also increase my fitness level. Losing weight or being skinny comes second. Of course, there's no point being skinny if I'm still lembik. OMG, I'm so lembik that I could barely do 15 sets of sit ups let alone do burpees made me gasping for air and struggling to finish. Also, I have lose my flexibility that I could barely stretch during yoga class.

Workout today:-
- 200 calories on treadmill (which was easy peasy)
- Kick boxing (errr, I have trouble with steps which needs hand-feet- coordination, I'm sooo very mechanical that I have to think through all the steps which explains my inability to dance.)
- Sit ups 15 x2
- Leg raise 15 x 2
- sit ups 6 x 2 ( i managed to get discount for this. heheheheh...)

Personally I would rather spent 1 hour on the treadmill than doing 10 mins of core exercises.

Currently reading:
1) Dr in the house : page 222/809 pages

Later!ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-18645727686632823332011-05-17T22:09:00.003+08:002011-05-17T22:23:43.090+08:00WO 17052011Today is public holiday ( yeaaaay!). So, instead of lazing around at the house, I spent my day being sort-of productive. Had family lunch outside and had a session with personal trainer @ the gym.

Today was weight training day. Basically doing few reps on weight machine. Reminded me the time at mueller center. I missed the time when i was able to run 5 miles on the treadmill without gasping for air and was able to do weight training without anybody's looking. The gym that I go now, basically the weight training area was fuuuull with guys after office hours. So, there's no way I'm going there except for weekends.

So, today I ended with sore body even though I'm doing kiddie weight (10lbs, whaaaattt??) .

I gotta catch up on my reading. But nowadays, I spent more time reading technical stuff at home. What a geek right? This is kinda the good thing and bad thing about working in technical world. The good thing is that u'll never be bored, cause the learning never stops and there's no way you can catch up on time (unless you're a genius), the bad thing is that the work doesn't stop at the office. It'll follow you everywhere...ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-11174226206807899752011-05-15T16:33:00.002+08:002011-05-15T16:43:14.900+08:00off dayHow is your Sunday? I spent my time chillexing at home, drinking coffee and lazing around... Considering tomorrow is working day, so it's not so bad giving your body a day off ,isn't it?

I had yoga class yesterday, my first yoga after few years not practicing. omg, it was freaking hard. One of the pose was trying to do a split, I for one can't do that but few aunties in the class can splits which would put me to shame... I gotta admit I'm not flexible nor athletic... So, after yesterday's gruelling yoga class + 20 mins on the treadmill (which i only burnt 100 calories, I envy breastfeeding moms who burn 500 calories per day!) , I woke up today with soreeee body. Hopefully this will go away soon.

Gotta go.. .ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-54095246232742666672011-05-12T23:54:00.000+08:002011-05-14T04:30:33.877+08:00updateomg! super lazy to update blog....

Nothing much is going on except I've turned 28 years old. when i was 23, i thought when i turned 28 I'mustve been soo mature by then. but looking at me now ,I dont feel a day like 28..

But I must say, I don't really hate growing old-er. It's kinda awesome. I remembered being young, filled with emotional drama, and not to mention the crazy mood swing. The thing about being older, I don't feel that way (most of the time) anymore. Okaylah, when u were young, there's always that friends envy, who have the fanciest car, who have biggest paycheck, the hottest body and the list goes on forever. But now, I couldn't care less about other people. Asalkan sendiri happy, oklah tu.

BIM - Borneo International Marathon. I decided not to run this year, as I am very much lack in training. Nanti takut halfway during run pengsan, sendiri yang susah. So, I'm skipping this year. By skipping, I mean, I might run next year hopefully come prepared. I want a running buddy! Also, I've joined Gym since my birthday. the gym membership is my birthday present for myself. Rather than buying expensive gadget, I better give myself health and a rocking body (wahahaha, i wish!)

Because I hardly work out nowadays, by hardly meaning almost never. Now that I PAY for gym, I might as well go so that the money won't be a waste. Paying for gym is expensive, so I might have to cut down the montly massages. No more spa-ing like madam tai-tai yerr... The gym membership also includes few personal training (very few) which I'm also interested. I mean, all these while work out suka-suka hati, it's kinda nice to know the how and what of these work out. Well, we'll see...

Okay, gotta continue work.

Have an awesome weekend yea!ujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22872612.post-39827598136621541362010-12-02T12:06:00.002+08:002010-12-02T12:19:19.528+08:00wedding feverOhh, it's the wedding fever.. School holidays equal to weddings everywhere , oh yeah, and kids running around in the mall. Bottom line, avoid malls during weekend. I know ive done that.

Talking about wedding, what's with the societal pressure of getting married? one thing ive learnt is that, one shouldnt get married just for the sake of getting married. Whats the point of getting married if it means being unhappy and settling for less? If you watch have you met your mother, you will see ted mosby's journey is a verrry long one. I mean its already season 6 , and the mother is nowhere to be seen (except for the ankle). Basically,we need booster every 5 years to maintain sufficient antibody for Hep B.

SO based on report, everything is ok. Although my thyroid level is lower compared to few years ago. It basically evens out your skin tone, can cover up redness/imperfection and also can provide basic sunscreen protection (providing your foundation has spf).

So before putting on makeup, wear base/primer. Primer/Base is basically providing a base for your foundation. Your foundation/Makeup would glide easily. Also, it could shrink your pores so that you could achieve that flawless skin.

1)Body Shop Matte It Primer RM49.90 @ Body Shop for 30ml. This Primer provides matte finish, absorbs excess oil and leaves you with matte look. In my opinion, this one is like clinique pore minimizing gel - only cheaper. If you want a dewy glowy look, skip this primer.
2) Sephora Primer - I am super loving this primer.. Bought in in Sephora @S'pore for $19.00. It's dewy and has a little bit of shimmer. The texture is creamy. You could mix this with your matte foundation to achieve the dewy/glowing look or wear it under foundation. I bought this because it provides the same function as mac strobe cream.
For foundation, I prefer liquid foundation because it glides easily and doesn't give me that cakey look- but this is just me. It's so important to find the right shades for your skin to look natural, otherwise you're just gonna look like wearing a mask. The trick is to just put on makeup on your chin, and compare to your neck. If it blends with your skintone, then it is the right color. Otherwise choose darker/lighter color. Pls don't try it on the back of your hand, the color is different there.

I usually splurge on foundation. Why? I couldn't really find my shades in the drugstore that doesn't my face loooking grey-ish. Plus, foundation lasts me 1-2 years, so I'm guessing it's worth it.

1)Maquiliquide UV Infinité Liquid FoundationBought this @ Parkson RM126. This is a water based foundation so as you might guess it's very lightweight ( as opposed to creamy). It provides sheer to medium foundation but definitely builadable. Bear in mind, the finish is not matte, it's gonna give you a slightly dewy look (as it's water based, so the makeup could easily be oxidized). Top up this foundation with powder if you want a matte look.

2) Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
Got this at mac for RM105 recently . The texture is creamy yet as it was claimed this is oil-free. The coverage is medium to full.. I was matched to NW35 ( I was NC35 before). If I want a matte look, I just wear this on it's own , while if I want a bit dewy look, I just mix this with my primer ( so it's gonna be a bit sheer and dewy). The good thing about this foundation, you don't have to put on powder afterwards, as it last quite long plus the matte effect. So far I've been using this foundation, no major breakouts yet.. The only thing I hate about this foundation is it doesn't have a pump, so I couldn't control the amount of foundation I want to dispense.

3) Mac Mineralize SkinFinish

Got this at mac for rm105 last year ( this was last year's price. Have no idea what's the price now). I kinda have a love/hate feeling with this foundation. It's a sheer foundation with a bit of shimmer to it. Basically it will gives you that dewy/glowy look, but.... there's a but.. sometimes after wearing it forawhile you could end up looking very greasy. So the solution is, to just powder on top of foundation. I think this could work if you want to wear for a short time, but if you want to have a long-lasting makeup, dont wear this as it could easily be gone by half of the day. Will I buy this again: probably not.

Those are the foundations that I've used and am using. How do i put on my foundation>
1) Finger - this works as your finger could warm up the foundation and will make the makeup glides easily.
2) Foundation brush - I have body shop foundation brush, and I don't really fancy it much. Using foundation brush basically you have to paint your face, and really blends it. If not properly blended, you could end up with streaks and patches on your face
3) Sponges - I am not a sponge person, as I think using sponge could waste products since the products basically will be absorbed in the sponge.
4) Stipple Brush - this is my new love! Okay fine, I dont a mac 187 brush to show off. But, I got a lumiere stipple brush which is i think serves as the same function as 187. This cuts down half the time and blends my foundation perfectly.

Okay.. until next products :Dujihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03628699860642777294noreply@blogger.com0
