iron lady ...

I wish! I'm gonna be participating in BIM this year with verrrryyy little preparation...

This is taken from previous BIM's post:

For next time, what helps:-
1) Good preparation(including morning run)
2) Good night sleep
3) Power gels during the run
4) Training buddies
5) Schedule and sticking to it

Cheh, iya-iyalah to do list... when it's time I forgot all about it...

Unlike the last one, where I actually trained during ramadhan month, this time around- the rainy weather I wish I am a brilliant inventor who can invent something like arc reactor which can power up something.. Well, the goal here is to finish... finish.. finish.. within the allocated time. Okaylah, as long as 1) Faint 2) Cramp 3) Vomit on the road ...

This is pre-iron man 2 obsession.. So, I've been youtubing RDJ ... and found some cute clips of him and his wife! So cuteeeee...

Allright.. have a greaaaat day... I gotta come up with some brilliant ideas...

long weekend

This blog has been abandoned for so looooong...

Since this week is a long weekend, why don't write one post of update?

Anyway, I've been buying lots of dvd boxset of tv shows since my hard disk & external hard disk have been running out of space. Yes, I am very sentimental as it's hard for me to delete tv shows that I've collected over the years... Here are some of tv-shows in my boxset collection:- ally mcbeal, sex and the city, house, friends, will & grace, lipstick jungle and friends. Okay, I'm officially have become a true couch potato...

So for the past few months, I've been watching ally mcbeal. I used to watch the show gazillion years ago but stopped when billy died. I was overly emotional at that time that I almost cried when he drop down dead in the court... And after that, the show was kinda blaah, season 3 is kinda boring that I almost wanna fast forward through the season. But not until R0bert D0wnery Jr came to the show and basically resuscitate the show back to life. Definitely Billy is not the love of ally's life, RBJ is... I love him in the show. The fact that he can sing is definitely gives additional points!

Okaylah, he's old now... But I guess he's one of the people who looks better as years passed by... oh, my. I hope this doesn't mean I like older men.. hehehhe...

Pls tell me you don't think he's hot here!

Anyway, this week will be RDJ's week for me. Movies marathon will include Iron Man, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and the Soloist...

I can't wait for Iron Man 2. Oh yea, and I after checking out my leave schedule, I coincidently had planned my leave on the premier's day. You bet I'll be watching the first show :D

Allright.. gonna go resume my download.

Later, hv a great weekend

my fatal flaw

I enjoy watching tv shows since I was in college... Drama is addictive but personal drama isn't... Believe it or not, there are shows that I haven't stop watching since college, and college is long time ago. Now, one of my favorites is Brothers & Sisters. I love it! The scripts (even though some are a bit melodramatic, tapi still good screenwriting) as well as the actors/actresses...In fact, last Sunday's episode is one of the best for me. I will review the episode probably soon...

Anyway, here's one of Everwood quote......

My Fatal Flaw, by Ephram Brown
(Everwood)

"The more things change, the more they stay the same. I'm not sure who the first person was who said that. Probably Shakespeare. Or maybe Sting. But at the moment, it's the sentence that best explains my tragic flaw: my inability to change.

I don't think I'm alone in this. The more I get to know other people, the more I realize it's kind of everyone's flaw. Staying exactly the same for as long as possible, standing perfectly still... It feels safer somehow. And if you are suffering, at least the pain is familiar. Because if you took that leap of faith, went outside the box, did something unexpected... Who knows what other pain might be out there, waiting for you. Chances are it could be even worse.

So you maintain the status quo. Choose the road already traveled and it doesn't seem that bad. Not as far as flaws go. You're not a drug addict. You're not killing anyone... Except maybe yourself a little.

When we finally do change, I don't think it happens like an earthquake or an explosion, where all of a sudden we're like this different person. I think it's smaller than that. The kind of thing most people wouldn't even notice unless they looked at us really close. Which, thank God, they never do.

But you notice it. Inside you that change feels like a world of difference. And you hope this is it. This is the person you get to be forever... that you'll never have to change again. "

preparation

I can't wait for my off days! Three more working days until my super-long off days! Hooray.... Not that I'm excited for raya or anything. Celebrating raya when grown up is hmmmm let's just say can be energy consuming. Because if I could, I want to spend my last puasa (off) days by laying down on the couch while watching my long-list of tv shows rather than cleaning the house.

Speaking of tv, most fall tv is here even Heroes! Almost all shows are going to be back next week e.g. Dirty Sexy Money, Chuck, Pushing Daisies, Grey's and others. I think the oldest show I watch now is OTH... I sometimes think that the script writer must've been living in some sort of wrecked life and never had a truly fulfilling relationship. Somehow she/he came up with all the cheesy lines that if they're being said in real world, I think I would turn green. I watched the last episode where Nathan and Haley just got back from the doctor since Nathan's back has been hurting him. So, here what Nathan said to Haley:

Nathan: I played that game for you, Haley and you know what? I’d give it up for you too. Because as much as I love playing the game and the person that I am when I play it, I love being a husband and a father more.

I mean who would say that in real life??? The script writer's significant other might actually say this in real life.

Mr X: I do this because of me and you know what? I will never give it up just for you because you don't like it. Because as much as I enjoy this, I want you to be supportive with what I do. It's part of me, so if you don't like it, screw you.

Heheheheh.. Okay, maybe that's a tad passive-aggresive and quite cynical. I mean as much as I melt over cheesy lines, I still believe actions speak louder than words. Don't pay attention to what they say, because all matters are their actions. Practical and make sense?Anyway, I still enjoy OTH despite the melodramatic twenties years-old life and cheesy scripts. I mean, everyone is entitled to at least one guilty pleasure right?

On training, I did run(sometimes walk) yesterday for 5kms (including 2 km of warm up/cool down). My feet was (still) killing me, my head was throbbing, and no amount of "eye of the tiger" can move my feet any faster. So, I stopped early, and glad to be home then fell asleep at 9pm. This fasting month, normally on work days, I don't really go back to sleep after sahur. I think it would definitely help on my race day where I had to run at 6am (and i'm not even a morning person!!!).

Alamak, race day is coming close... I get anxious just thinking about it.

Where we left off: Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl is coming to your nearest pc on April 21, be sure to mark your calendar yea?

Here are some recaps of what happened on last episode and where it would lead us next...

Serena was seen buying a pregnancy test which was meant for Blair. In the end, it turned out that Queen B wasn't pregnant after all

Little J Humphrey broke the little secret of Blair sleeping with Chuck to Nate

Nate broke his friendship with Chuck and made it clear that he won't have Chuck anywhere near his life.

Serena and Dan finally exchanged the 'L' word, "I love you". Awwww.. So schweeet..
Everybody found out that it was B's pregnancy scare, and she was shunned out of her clique, while welcoming Jenny into their popular group.

Blair decided to ran away to France, but stopped by Serena who promised she would stand by Blair, and they would fight together.
So what do you expect in the next episode? I'm expecting more fabulous clothes, more teen-drama, mushy conversation of dan-serena ;)

Thursday to-do-list

1. Watch new episode of Malaysian Dream Girl (Malaysian attempt to have their own Malaysia's Top Model show) It's basically the same concept and idea as ANTM, 12 girls living together, makeover, and photoshoot. I hope they're gonna add fresh ideas into the show to not make it as full-copycat show.

2. Watch One Tree Hill Season 5 Episode 11

3. Watch America's Next Top Model Season 10 Episode 4

Yes.. I love my tv :)

Lesson from Hell's Kitchen

I was watching channel AFC this morning, and hell's kitchen was on. It is basically a cooking-based reality show quite similar to the apprentice. If you watch this show you know how tense and hell-like the kitchen is with impending screams from Chef Ramsay. It's scary to have Chef Ramsay in the kitchen with his screaming. There was one time when he was frustrated with one of the apprentice, and he started screaming, "Communicate, Open Up, and Talk to Me!!!" Then, I wish I can have Chef Ramsay screaming those words to some people around me...

Grumpy Bear

Grumpy Bear is a bit of a grouch. But his grumpiness reminds us that an occasional grouchy mood is all right - as long as it doesn't last too long. Grumpy Bear's tummy symbol, a rain cloud with falling hearts, is a reminder that even when we're grouchy, we are still loved by those closest to us

Book: Gossip Girl #1 (Gossip Girl Series)

I'm so loving Gossip Girls, the fab coctail dresses that I wish I get to wear, and it's in New York City! And how about that eye candy Nate Archibald (Chance Crawford)??? Some of the scenes were shot in popular places in New York City such as in the first episode where S and B talked on the steps of the MET, and also the hustle of NYC streets (with the yellow taxis). I wish I can visit the city in the spring when the flowers are blooming, in the fall when the leaves turn brown and fall from the trees, and also in winter when the city is covered in white.

Anyway, I was going to write about gossip girls initially somehow it turns into travel review :) I've borrowed Gossip Girl book from the local library, just to see the difference from the tv show. Initially I wanted to write down the books vs show here, but I guess someone has already done it here.

Synopsis:
" Welcome to New York City's Upper East Side where my friends and I live, and go to school, and play, and sleep- sometimes with each other. We all live in huge apartments with our own bedrooms and bathrooms and phone lines. We're smart, we've inherited classic good looks, we have fantastic clothes, and we know how to party. . .

Introducing Gossip Girl, a wickedly funny and risquè novel about the provocative lives of New York City's most prestigious private school young adults. Gossip Girl herself is an anonymous narrator with the ultimate insider scoop on the inner-workings of this privileged society because she's one of them. Sharp wit, intriguing characters, and high stakes melodrama drive the action of this addictive novel that will make Gossip Girl the lit world's new "it" girl.

In Gossip Girl, when the beautiful Serena van der Woodsen returns to private school after mysteriously getting kicked out of boarding school, the whole school is talking. All Blair Waldorf knows is that there's no freaking way Serena's going to just waltz back in with her Jimmy Choo mules and Kate Spade bag and steal everyone's heart again. But Serena's got other things on her mind, like college pressure and living up to everyone else's extreme expectations. Plus there's that Ryan Phillippe-looking guy who stands across the street and stares at her all the time.

It's going to be a wild and wicked year, I can smell it.

Love,Gossip Girl "

Synopsis from Barnes&Noble

It's a light book, very suitable for a beach/vacation read. Plus, who doesn't love a bit of juicy gossips???

teen drama

one of my guilty pleasures is watching teen-soaps... yes, i've watched beverly hills 90210, dawson's creek, the oc, one tree hill and now.... i'm watching gossip girl!

"Gossip Girl is an American television teen drama based on the popular novel series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York's Upper East Side who attend elite academic institutions whilst dealing with sex, drugs, and other teenage issues."

tva

I think there should be a tva (stands for tvholic anonymous)... I'm uj1, and i'm a tv-holic. Sometimes I think I spend way too much time with 2-dimensional people than 3-dimensional one :D Humans are 3-dimensional right?

Anyway... Here are old tv shows that I used to watch....

F.r.i.e.n.d.s
I love friends!!! It's a story about 6 friends navigating life in NYC. I missed the first few seasons when there were aired, but thanks to phynd (large campus network sharing), I got to catch up on some old episodes. It was aired every Thursday on NBC. I remembered watching season finale of season 8, most people were staying at barh, everybody screamed when Joey found Ross's engagement ring, and Rachel said "yes" because she thought Joey was proposing... Such a cliffhanger huh?
What I think about the season finale? Like how it should end. Ross & Rachel are together, Chandler & Monica got their adopted twin babies, Phoebe was married and Joey pursuing career in LA. Oh and because of Joey of friends, Had1 got his name, Hadi Joey :P

Dawson's Creek
I have a thing for teenage drama. Maybe I'm compensating for the lack of drama in my teenage years. Dawson's Creek, or I think it should be called Joey's Creek because most drama revolved around Joey anyway. It's the usual teenage soap of Dawson, Joey and friends. Surely the way they talked is very matured for teenagers. I don't think teens actually have that wisdom, or can be so articulate in conveying their thoughts. They will have that line, "we need to talk". Then, they would have a long heart-to-heart conversation about whatever issues they had in mind, and then ended it with hug. So much for real-drama huh?

My favorite characters are Jen & Jack. They're so cute together. No, they're not a couple, Jack is actually Jen's gay best friend, kinda like Will & Grace. For the whole 6 seasons, Joey had been battling with the Pacey-Dawson dilemma. She started with Dawson then, Dawson with Jen,then Joey with Pacey, then Dawson wanna be back with Joey. It's the usual love-triange/rectangle. In the end, after a heart breaking death of Jen Lindley (I think I cried when she died..sheeehhh.. It's just a teen drama uj1!!), Joey finally made up her mind to be with Pacey. Come on Joey, it took you 6 seasons to figure that one out!!!

Felicity
Thanks to Mel who introduced me to the show felicity. The show is about Felicity who went to NYU (at first to pursue her high school crush, Ben). The story revolves around Felicity and friends dealing with adjustment and all sort of crisis through college and moving into adulthood. It's another show with the love triangle, Felicity-Ben-Noel.

Will & Grace
Me and Con liked this show, kan Con? Heheheh.. It's a sitcom about Grace, an interior designer and her lawyer best friend, Will. Like described in tv.com, they actually have a bond together, more than friends, but less than lover. The twist is Will is gay. In addition to the two main characters, there are Jack, funny gay best friend of Will and Karen, sarcastic and spoiled.

Other shows :-
everwood - I know Sha actually liked this show! Marcia (Bree of DH) was in this show for few episodes
gilmore girls - yes, we love rory & lorelai. I don't know how they can talk so fast!
charmed - stopped watching the last season. It became boring after awhile. I liked it best when Cole (Julian McMahon) was in the show! He's adorable!!!
alias - another confusing show, but jennifer garner was kicking ass in that show. After watching the first four seasons, I've lost track of the rimbaldi, prophet 5 thing. Does anybody actually understand?

Greys Anatomy S3 Finale

I know this is very... very outdated.... I just finished watching my re-run of the GA season 3 finale. Summer Hiatus is great for re-runs :D

So here are my favorite takes and what to expect next season....

McDreamy & Meredith.
Didn't your heart almost melt when mcDreamy being all mushy and all? Quote:"Meredith, I do love you. Don't you see? Don't you understand? You're the love of my life. I can't leave you. But you're constantly leaving me. You walk away when you want, you come back when you want. Not everyone, not your friends, but you leave me. So, I'm asking you, if you don't see a future with us. Please... please just end it because I'm in it. Put me out of my misery."
Yes meredith. Please put me out my misery too! I hope next season McDreamy will be with somebody else, this Meredith/McDreamy drama has been dragging on since what, 3 years already???

Alex Karev & Jane Doe(Eva/Rebecca)Hopefully next season Alex Karev will somehow found his Eva back. It's nice to see him in his attentive and nice mode.

Funny eyebrow-less Christina Yang
Burke left Christina at the altar.... Isaac Washington was fired from the show because of his homophobic comment towards co-star T.R.Knight. More info here.
Upcoming expected regular character. She is Meredith step-sister, Lexie Grey.I'm soooo not a big fan of Izzie ever since she slept with George. He's married!!! Wait.. hmmmm... why do they always make the girls having affair/feeling with married men?

Next tx-shows marathon will be one tree hill. I know... I know.. it's a high school drama with over-matured-teenagers, but it's fun to watch... I am so glad that Dan is finally in jail. No matter where you run, guilt always comes after you....

tv show crushes....

Milo Ventimiglia (M-eye-lo Ven-tim-il-ee-ah)
I started to have crush on him since he was in gilmore girls. Now, playing as Peter Petrelli in the hot new tv show, Heroes, I'm falling more in love... Ah, how can you not be....
Patrick Dempsey
Aaah. Dr mcdreamy. I wouldn't mind getting sick, so that he can hold my hand and tell me everything is going to be okay. hahahha..

Wenworth miller
Look at those eyes. It actually piercing right through you. No need to say more, he's a hot prisoner :P :P
